Detail Clean: Double the market, double the profit
By targeting domestic and commercial markets Detail Clean franchisees could potentially double their profit, which was what attracted the first franchisee
With few other cleaning franchises servicing both commercial and domestic cleaning markets, Detail Clean offers a distinct proposition. Established to take advantage of the sector's reputation for variable customer service, Detail Clean has developed a concept based on providing impeccable reliability and a consistently high and professional service.
Veronica Miller, the first franchisee, wanted to become involved in an industry offering tremendous growth potential and was interested in working in both sectors of the cleaning industry.
'Cleaning is a multi-billion pound industry and growing,' states Veronica. 'I wanted to work with a franchise that had few franchisees and felt that Detail Clean would do everything they could to help me. With my existing business management skills I felt that I could bring added value to the operation.'
When Veronica launches her business later in the year she will be targeting areas of affluence in south London. 'As a management franchisee you can grow this business as large as you like,' she adds. 'I'm aiming to grow the franchise into a multi-million pound operation. The support so far has been fantastic and I'm confident that myself and Detail Clean will work very well together.'
Explains Detail Clean Managing Director Sandra Leggett: 'We feel that franchising is a suitable method of expansion and through it we are providing opportunities for potential businesspeople to become part of an industry estimated at around £11 billion. Exemplary service is applied to all aspects of the Detail Clean package including projecting a professional image through sign-written vehicles, uniformed staff, own-branded products, 100 per cent reliability, and a vehicle management system for monitoring the position of each cleaning team. 'We were - as far as we know - one of the first domestic cleaning companies in the UK to adopt a Vehicle Management System,' Sandra confirms. 'This system remote manages the position of every vehicle through tracking devices to allow confirmation of arrival times, reduce insurance costs, provide detailed directions for cleaning crews, and eliminate unauthorised breaks and vehicle use.'
The franchise programme has been developed under the experienced guidance of Paul Hague, Senior Franchise Consultant with Franchise Development Services, and Detail Clean is ready to support its first wave of franchisees in their quest to become successful business owners. 'Detail Clean has put considerable effort into developing its exciting franchise and I am very pleased to have helped the company through to launch,' endorses Paul. 'Its own business has done extremely well and its franchisees have a great opportunity to build very good businesses for themselves.'
The company provides full and ongoing support for franchisees, starting with three days of classroom training covering sales and marketing, recruiting and managing staff, administration and customer service. This is complemented by a further five days of hands-on training at a company branch. 'Franchisees are then ready to launch their businesses,' Sandra continues, 'and we spend six more days assisting at their office pre- and post-launch to vet, hire and train staff, begin marketing and supervise their first cleaning jobs.'
The support package includes a helpline facility, regular visits and communications from head office, research and development, new product testing, national marketing, newsletters and group meetings to encourage the exchange of ideas. Franchisees can maximise the potential of their territories by targeting both domestic and commercial cleaning markets.
