Two Million Reasons to Choose Right at Home

Right at Home, a global leader in the home care market, will see two of its franchise offices pass the £1million turnover mark in just over two years of trading. The Franchise Magazine reports

Having carefully grown to a network of 20 UK offices, the company is now seeing some fantastic sales results as offices develop a reputation for delivering top quality services within their local communities.

Right at Home specialises in providing high quality care and companionship to seniors and adults with physical and mild learning disabilities, in the comfort of their own home. What’s more, sector experience is not necessary. Ambition and entrepreneurialism are prerequisites however.

Behind Right at Home’s success is renowned UK Managing Director, Ken Deary. With a 20-year track record in the franchise sector, having been introduced to franchising at McDonalds, Ken is the recipient of a British Franchise Association (bfa) Franchisee of the Year Award as well as the coveted Golden Arches Award, given to the company’s most successful international operators.

Ken explains: “The home care market is growing exponentially as the population becomes older and people need high quality standards of care delivered in their own homes.

“This is a management franchise so the franchise owner would recruit a locally-experienced, well-qualified registered manager who would recruit and train the home care assistants.”

While the initial 12 months can, as with any business, be challenging, Right at Home offers outstanding training and close support to all new franchise owners; guiding them through the opening process and making sure they are fully equipped to break even as quickly as possible. Former Police Officer, Joe Guishard, owner of Right at Home Cardiff, attributes his strong start to the quality of the support he has received since agreeing his franchise.

He adds: “Meeting Ken Deary and realising his expertise in this field was what clinched it for me. The home care sector was something I felt very passionate about. Right at Home matched my aims and aspirations and seemed a highly ethical company.”

Internationally Right at Home has more than 400 offices operating across five continents as well and this year the Right at Home group successfully reached the $1 billion sales mark in the US. Furthermore, the business is thriving here in the UK too thanks to excellent support.

Joe concludes: “The franchisee training we received exceeded my expectations – it really was first class and an invaluable experience. There was lots of information you just wouldn’t get if you were starting on your own. I feel the training allowed me to hit the ground running and with the ongoing support we receive, we are now going from strength to strength.”

Right at Home hosts franchise owner Discovery Days at its Preston headquarters for interested candidates. These meetings – held for individuals or small groups rather than in an ‘open day’ format – give prospective franchise owners the chance to get to know MD Ken Deary and find out why the company is now a global leader in the home care market. Detailed regionalised financial projections are provided and territory options explored.

Ken said: “This is a recession resilient sector with repeating business that cannot be automated or taken over by technology. Ours is the ideal opportunity for someone looking for a management franchise which can make a real difference to people’s lives whilst providing a financially rewarding business.”

Right at Home is careful to only award franchises to owners it believes are a good match to the business model.
