Signs Express celebrates Management Buyout deal

Norwich based signs and graphics franchise, Signs Express, has been acquired in a successful management buyout by Directors, Craig Brown, Peter Sayles and Tony Marsh. The move will see founders David Corbett and Frank Eliel exit the company following a shares buy back deal.

Signs Express is one of the UK’s largest sign and graphics franchises, with 70 operating locations across the country. It was established by Mr Corbett and Mr Eliel in 1989 with the aim of offering businesses a one-stop shop for signage.

Craig Brown, who will lead the company going into its bright future, has been with the company from the beginning and was already a partial shareholder in the business after a partial management buyout in 2007. The outcome of the buyout sees Jonathan Bean announced as a fourth equity shareholder and he will join the management team as Finance Director.

Mr Brown said: “David and Frank have left us with a fantastic legacy and one which myself, Peter, Tony and now Jonathan are relishing the opportunity to build on in the coming years.” Mr Corbett and Mr Eliel added: “We are delighted to pass the baton on to our well balanced and experienced team.

They have the knowledge and skills needed to progress what we started. With a large ‘family’ of franchise eowners across the UK and Ireland it is fundamentally important that they feel confident that the business will continue to be developed with ethical franchising at its core.”
