Two Men And A Truck leads the way as it arrives in the UK
When housewife Mary Ellen Sheets hit on the idea of giving her two high school children a summer holiday business using a cheap van to do moving jobs for friends and neighbours, she could not have guessed that one day that business would become an icon of perfection across the USA.
Mary Ellen told her children to look after their customers and word would get around. It did, and today, that summer holiday business, launched with a $350 van, a lot of enthusiasm, and a caring attitude, now covers the USA with over 215 locations.
Two Men And A Truck, with its striking stickmen logo, unchanged since it was designed by Mary Ellen, has been successfully operating in Ireland and will shortly see its first franchise owner in Scotland. The company is looking for franchise owners all over the UK, with emphasis initially on the East and West Midlands.
“This is a business in removals without the heavy moving factor, so ideal for anyone – men or women – who can manage, run and develop a successful enterprise, while having a lot of fun,” says UK Managing Director Mike Harrison.
“This is very much a people business, built on strong core values, delivering a much needed local relocation service through a world class operating model that puts the customer and the community at the top of the list.”
“In the UK, 2.5 million households move home every year – a £1.5 billion market. Add this to the continued growth of business moving, you have a huge market with enormous potential,” says Mike .
"We expect franchise owners to share our core values, have a strong desire to grow the business and able to manage a team of reps, drivers and movers, while not forgetting the customers and their property need a lot of tender, loving care.”
