To celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 2011, coffee shop franchise Esquires Coffee Houses will be giving away two free drinks, in order to introduce new customers to its Fairtrade product range.

During Fairtrade Fortnight, 28th February to the 13th March, every customer who returns a completed Esquires 2011 Fairtrade Loyalty Card will receive one free beverage for themselves and a second drink for introducing a friend during the two weeks.

The promotion, which will run in 33 Esquires Coffee Houses across the UK, hopes to raise awareness of Fairtrade food and drink and the difference customers can make by opting for Fairtrade products.

Esquires’ customers will also have the opportunity to win free coffee for a whole year* simply by following the company’s mascot Peekay the Penguin on Facebook.

Esquires Coffee Houses UK Managing Director Peter Kirton said: “Esquires Coffee Houses was the first high street franchise, throughout the UK, to offer Fairtrade coffee as standard back in 2007; a commitment we’re extremely proud of.

“We continue to support the Fairtrade Foundation, alongside our chosen charities, by introducing a variety of quality Fairtrade products to our food and beverage range and launching a fresh awareness campaign every year.

“With this latest Fairtrade promotion, we want to introduce even more people to our proprietary Fairtrade coffees and hot chocolate and, in doing so, give something back to the customers that support us as well as the communities that create our premium coffee and chocolate blends.”

*this offer equates to one beverage from the menu every week for a year!
