Mike Parker, Minster Cleaning Services MD, commented on the brands success thus far: “I was very pleased that one of our top franchise owners stepped forward to enter these awards this year. Nick Barber operates our Northampton branch and was Minster’s own ‘Franchisee of the Year’, last year, so he was an ideal entrant for us. To our delight Nick, who entered his branch in the B2B category, was short listed to Finalist status, one of only three businesses to be selected.”

In mid-July, Nick presented his entry to the judges, who represented the bfa (British Franchise Association), HSBC, Express Newspapers and Platinum Wave. This was held at the head quarter offices of the main sponsor, HSBC, in Canary Wharf.

Following his presentation, he was grilled by the panel about his business and Nick was able to capably answer their questions; after all, he knows more about his business than anyone else. His passion for his customers and staff shone through during both his presentation and the question and answer session.

Following a brief photo call with the judges, Nick then had another Q&A session with a journalist while recording some short video clips for the awards evening.

Mike continued: “October is not too far away for Nick to find out if he has won the category or not. I am so pleased for Nick and the Minster team in Northampton. For them to become one of only three finalists is a significant victory already, in a year where there have been a high number of entries. Of course, we would like to do even better, so I remain excited by the race to the Awards night.”
