Global submarine sandwich chain Subway has continued its expansion in the Middle East with the launch of its 100th outlet in the UAE. The USA-based company has also launched its 44th location in Kuwait and 41st in Saudi Arabia. Additionally Subway has revealed plans to add three new stores in Kuwait and two in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2010.

The launch of these new outlets brings Subway to a total of 230 locations in the MENA region, which includes outlets in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt.

Hisham Ghazal, Brand Manager of Subway Middle East and Africa, said: “We are proud to announce our network is further expanding, and will continue to grow to reach our customers. I would like to congratulate Subway (UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for the remarkable efforts as we gear up to opening additional outlets in most of the Arab countries in the near future.

“Our continuous expansion comes as a key step to meeting the increasing demand for the healthier options that we offer with optimum value.”

Christopher Reyes, Operational Director of Subway Saudi Arabia, said: “The year 2010 is special for us by all measures. With the opening of nine new outlets, the year has witnessed the biggest expansion of Subway in Saudi Arabia, followed by six new stores in 2005 and five in 2009.”
